Rebel Chocolate Columbian, Made in Scotland!!
Rural Atelier is a huge fan of UK made, low sugar, lactose/gluten-free treats from Rebel Chocolate – If you like big, bold and rich cocoa flavours in your chocolate then this Columbian milk chocolate is for you!
We are taste-testing with our young friends so they develop a taste of proper chocolate that is lower in sugar than most shop bought, mass produced brands. We practice what we preach – to support small scale food production that creates a strong message to producers – give us sustainable quality that doesn’t compromise our health, our societies, our planet.
So far we have found that the children eating Rebel Chocolate have been satisfied eating less of it. We will keep monitoring this – very interesting so far.
Rebel Chocolate from Scotland say: “To make this wonderful chocolate we use “Fino de Aroma” cocoa from the Huila region of Columbia.
“Fino de Aroma” is an International Cocoa Organisation classification which only the best 8% of the world’s cocoa falls under. As you have no doubt guessed, this translates to “fine aroma and flavour”. To make our Colombian milk chocolate, we blend this awesome cocoa with our signature mix of cocoa butter, lactose-free whey protein, lactose-free whole milk powder and sugar. We then grind this heavenly concoction in our stone on stone grinder, in a process called conching, for at least 72 hours to ensure the resulting chocolate is smooth and fantastically flavoured.”
